Shakedown day 2

Took an 8+ mile route back over steep terrain. Great views though



Retro

Things that went well:

  • Campground and campsite

  • Offline mode

  • Garmin 

  • Food

  • Backpack weight

  • Cooking system 

  • Hygiene system 

  • porch and camp shoes 

  • second  carabiner trick 

  • charger/ battery dialed in 

  • sleep clothes work for low temperature 

Thing that needs work:

  • Hammock is too fiddly and uncomfortable 

  • Spilling oatmeal-- one thing at a time 

  • need to learn CalTopo 

  • need to stretch before bed / after every break 

  • monitor wet shoes- don't power through 

Things I learned:

  • Dry camping optimally requires 2-liters of water 

  • Sub6 Eno won't work
